Too many times cited as ''the gateway'' of the islands of Polynesia because of its International airport,
Tahiti is a Destination on its own.

It is just 11 miles across the Sea of the Moon from Tahiti, but a world away.

Huahine: The Garden of Eden

Huahine is located 110 miles northwest of Tahiti and is just a short plane ride away. It is formed by two islands,
joined by a narrow isthmus and encircled by a barrier reef.

The mysterious Polynesian island jewel known as Tetiaroa is actually a 4.5 mile
wide atoll comprised of 12 motus (small islands) and located just 36.5 miles (59 km) north of Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia on the island of Tahiti.

Marlon Brando first "discovered" Tetiaroa in the early 1960's while scouting locations for
the classic film "Mutiny on the Bounty". (it was on that same shoot that he met his future wife, Tahitian beauty Tarita Teriipaia, who played the lover of his character.)

Raiatea: The Sacred Island

Raiatea is commonly considered the most revered island in all the South Pacific.
Yachting and sailing enthusiasts gather in Raiatea, home of the island’s nautical bases for
the Moorings and Stardust Marine charter companies.

Tahaa: The Vanilla Island

Tahaa, just two miles north of Raiatea, offers a glimpse of the traditional, tranquil life of Tahitians. The 4,000 residents fish from the lagoon and raise livestock.

Bora Bora: The Romantic Island

Bora Bora has been voted the sexiest island in the world by Forbes Magazine, it truly is. This tiny island - just 18 miles in circumference - is encircled by a protective necklace of coral.

Maupiti is the smallest island, but is often considered as one of the most beautiful islands
of the South Seas. Located at 315km away from Tahiti (only 40 km away from Bora Bora), it is
composed of a little green emerauld massif, mount Teurafaatui that reaches 1,250 feet high.

It emerges from a shallow lagoon with transparent waters surrounded by long
motu (islets) with beautiful white sand beaches. Still saved from tourism, you will not find
any deluxe resorts there but traditional family pensions.

Manihi: The Black Pearl Paradise

Manihi is a small atoll with less than one thousand residents. This atoll was the site of the first pearl
farm that helped pave the way for the other Tuamotu islands. The blacklipped oysters, found only in Tahiti and Its Islands, are cultivated for their prized black pearls. Visitors can enjoy the plentiful lagoon activities
while exploring the many black pearl farms for which the island is known.

Rangiroa: The Island of the Long Sky

A one-hour flight from Tahiti, Rangiroa is part of the Tuamotu Archipelago and is the world’s second largest atoll.
From the air it appears that a large pearl necklace was gently placed on the water.

Nuku Hiva is a mystic island where natural wonders abound such as 1000-foot waterfalls cascade
